Property was very dated but very clean with comfortable beds. The drinks were very well priced as was the food. The location was fantastic, the staff were great. The price of the room was great. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

What a fantastic hotel this must have been in its heyday. Unfortunately now it is very dated, with threadbare carpets in the main grand hallways and stairs. We were in an executive twin room and it was very basic, but at least it was clean. Bathroom floor had a big tear in the lino, the toilet seat must have cost about 50p, and each bed only had one pillow. Tea and coffee facilities in the room along with a TV on the wall, which was good. All in all, basic, clean, but I don't think I would stay again. I would prefer to pay a little more to stay in the IBIS next door.

We are asked if we wanted to upgrade to a suit for an extra £20, we was told it was the best room in the hotel. When we got into the room it wasn’t a suit at all it’s was a family room. There was a double bed the another two single bed at the back of the room with two chairs and a small table. Not sure how that could be a suit? Obviously it was just me and my partner so the other two beds was pointless for us and didn’t get used so was no need for us to upgrade. Disappointed

Good location and serves it purpose for a weekend in the city. Check-out time on expdia website says 11am but at the hotel its actually a 10am check-out which was slightly frustrating.

Great location, room was fine and had what we needed for one night stay. However, the staff are so rude. As soon as we walked in the security man came across really aggressive for no reason, made us feel really uneasy. The reception staff are very rude again for no reason. I don’t recall anywhere saying you need to bring ID, but if you don’t they reject you. I have never been asked for ID at a hotel before seems odd. The iron, is terrible. Located in a weird place and the timescale coming out of it was disgusting. Also, loads of staff saw me using it and no one had the decency to tell me how it works when I was struggling with it, I ironed my whole outfit realising it had turned off. Which the staff knew, but just watched me. The staff make you feel guilty for checking in or asking for things was a very off experience, I will not be returning. The upstairs stank of smoke, someone was clearly smoking. Cleaners also rude.

Looks like they are refurbishing the hotel as it had new carpets everywhere! My room was really good, very clean everything I needed staff were really nice especially the breakfast staff excellent keep it going Britannia xx

I wasn’t allowed to check in because my 12 year old daughter didn’t have ID children don’t need ID to get into a hotel I had my id I’m the adult and I booked the room absolutely ridiculous! After finally managing to get a picture of her passport sent to my phone I could check in 2 hours after originally trying to check in which completely ruined our day and plans. When I finally got into the room it stunk of smoke which it was supposed to be a non smoking room absolutely abysmal experience at this hotel
