This hotel has a very nice view and is a great choice for shooting or watching the stars. Their service staff is very friendly and will assist you very well with things to do at the top of the mountain to fix inconveniences. The rooms are slightly smaller than similarly priced hotels, but I think the starry sky at night definitely makes up for it, and the balcony on the side of the house offers a great starry sky experience. There are two restaurants here, the one on the second floor requires reservations, while the Pub on the second floor accepts walk-ins although they only have some simple sandwiches with fried chicken. Although there is no signal as well as WiFi on the top of the hill, it is very good in general.

Terrible accommodation. The shower door was broken. The window blinds were broken. We reserved a king bed but couldn’t get in because the key would not open the door. The front desk said sorry, but they could only put us in a room with two queen beds. After finally agreeing, we got to our room and found out it was only one queen bed. The front desk said sorry, that’s all they had. No refund, no credit, no free drink, or resort credit—they just didn’t care. We won’t recommend this place to anyone

Completely infested with bugs. Staff didn’t seem to care. Wouldn’t stay here again even with limited options in the area. Only good thing is the upstairs bar and the bartenders that worked there.

If you want a quiet place with nature come here. The room was average. Could have been a bit cleaner but was passable. Staff were nice and the view was outstanding! The only drawback is the rooms are not very soundproof and you could hear your neighbor. We would stay again

If I had not chosen this hotel in order to star gaze in the park, we would have left and found a hotel in Cortez. Room very basic: no TV, no WiFi. Lots of flies in the bedroom at the window with even more dead ones in the windowsill. The door to our balcony did not want to stay closed and kept swinging open. Weight room needs help; has cardboard taped over broken glass on the wall partition, 2 of the 3 cardio machines not working. More flies and bugs, alive and dead, in the weight room. There are 2 restaurants at the lounge, and a cooler to buy food from. An orange is $5.49; I don’t even want to guess how much food in the restaurants costs. In all, an ok place to just sleep for the night, but not much else going for it. They need a serious deep clean and update to the decor.

If you were looking for a totally remote location to get away from everything, cell service, Internet, other people, this is it! There is a convenient ice machine located with every pod of rooms but no where to get a “coke”, Although beer is plentiful at The Terrace. Besides that there is nothing but quiet And nothing to do except hike The Mesa Verde trails. The food at the terrace, basically fills the hole, is self-service, and whatever they make for the day is all they will make, first come first serve. The dining at the main registration building is unremarkable. *** If you’re going to hike Cliff Palace, or several others, remember to sign up for your tour tickets two weeks in advance because they are always sold out.
