「Disappointed that the room we were given had opaque film over window, found out why when we opened window to find out view was a building site. Little sleep as could hear every footstep from either room above or corridor. Food in restaurant was delicious.」

「Everything went as expected. Although dated in decor the staff were friendly and professional. We requested additional pillows and despite being told they were busy and might take some time, they arrived in less than 30 minutes. 」

「Just returned from wonderful two night stay at Black burn Lodge and it lives up to the rave reviews. Stunning location by the river, where we spent the evenings in the gazebo enjoying the views and a glass of Baileys . The room was spotlessly clean with high quality bedlinen and furnishings. Also separate lounge if weather not great. The hosts make you feel so welcome and provide a lot of formation about where to eat and visit in the area. Would highly recommend and hope to visit again.」

「Great place to stay after a long drive - easy access to A74(M) but far enough away to avoid the road noise. Spotless en-suite room with tea coffee & Tunnocks teacake, yum. Wake-up to a relaxing view of green pastures and dairy herd. Welcoming host and superb Scottish breakfast. Highly recommended.」

「Very welcoming to a very comfortable room. We took dinner at one of the local pubs - but be early as they do stop serving food. Ample parking - although I think it was very quiet. It was an icy night - and unfortunately, the heating failed, so it was chilly in the room. Nice and clean - bathroom too.」
