早上到酒店可以提早checkin，很體貼。 酒店有點舊，上到樓層有點臭味，或者是因為吸煙樓層吧。 在酒店門口有站，有專車去看長鼻猴和人猿，非常方便。

We only had a one night stay as a stop over, the hotel is clean and convenient for what we wanted. It’s an old hotel with some nice old features. Rooms were nice and big and comfortable. A good breakfast was included in the price.

Although the interior is a bit dated the hotel is very clean extremely convenient to all Sandakan has to offer. Staff are very helpful and professional. The breakfast/dining area is very pleasant and offers good menu choices.

One night stay on our way back to KK/KL. Really nice staff. Great breakfast. Hotel is a bit warn but fine for a short stay.

Good place for short stay in Sandakan
There was a mixup with our reservation that didn’t show up in the hotel’s computer. We finally got squared away but had to ask a few times about the problem. It seemed they were reluctant to have to ask us about our booking details but were very nice and apologetic. The room was well appointed and stocked with water, coffee, tea and bathroom amenities. The corridor is warn and in need of carpet and brighter lighting. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Just a couple blocks from the waterfront, but Sandakan is not a town you need to plan to stay for more than a day.

Overall good! The rooms are clean and cozy - bed and pillows slightly stiff and it took a long time for them to find my booking and check me in then when I arrived. Seemed to be a little bit of a problem with organisation/communication cause the first day they didn’t know I had paid for breakfast and then the cleaners came to my room and thought I was gonna check out one day prior than my actual check out. But otherwise good service - friendly staff and nice food!

Convenient location
Comfortable enough room with a good bathroom. Wi-fi never seemed to work properly and had to keep logging in again. We were out all day till 4pm but on our return found that the room had not been made up and had to call housekeeping. We had breakfast the first morning but there weren’t many suitable European choices. For some reason our booking for the second day did not include breakfast bu5 we found a cheap restaurant across the road with a more suitable breakfast. Staff in restaurant were helpful. Easy to walk to Agnes Keith House and the harbour.

Can you take the bad with the good?
his hotel did not receive, or did not see, our booking via hotels.com; no idea if hotels.com/expedia did not confirm our booking. It therefor took hours to get rooms (we booked 2), a lot of confusion; no explanation. Tried to contact hotels.com and expedia. Passed around 4 different people with no body taking responsibility. the hotel is run down, not clean but the beds were comfortable. bathrooms very much in need of a refurbishment. Pictures on hotels.com must be from long time ago. some notes advertised refurbishments had taken place earlier this year and so perhaps other floors are in better condition. We had a room on the 2nd and 4th floor. the breakfast was a mixture of asian and european. they have a waffle station, freshly made and an "egg" station. this was nice. the hotel is well located; a block away from the see front. the cost charged if booked direct is about 30% less as if you book it via hotels.com; till no reaction from hotels.com on this incident.

Big, clean and comfy
I booked Hotel Sandakan on the recommendation of the driver I used out at Sepilok, and I'm grateful that I did. The hotel was great, in a good location close to countless eateries, and several convenience stores/supermarkets. Service was excellent. The room was large, clean, and very comfortable - I stayed in the Junior Suite. The room had both a shower and bath. Highly recommend if staying in Sandakan.

We booked family room for 4 persons but that room type was not available. Even though the hotel has gave us extra bed but the room size definitely not as big as what we expect.

We apology for the unpleasant experience during your stay. Our room size is same for all Deluxe rooms and only this type of room can fix in one extra bed. The maximum occupancy for Deluxe room is 3-4 persons. We sorry for the misunderstanding.

Inaccurate information.
Your Home-Page information is an exhaustive and inaccurate example. I ask for this hotel before reservation from their homepage at "Contact Us". I asked for this hotel which room grade available to use bath-Tub. But I received Answer from them only before day. If I have exact Information before reserve,I can get a room with bathtub as same price.

Great hotel in the past, needs maintenance today
I guess hotel was great some time ago, but needs maintenance today, especially the bathroom which is really worn-out. Toilet was a bit leaking, bathroom drain was a bit blocked, one lamp was not working, etc. - needs maintenance. Despite the fact that I booked a non-smoking room, the corridor was smelly and I was able to smell cigarette smoke from bathroom vents when somebody smoked in another room. The staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast was OK. No critical issues with room cleanness. In general - good for its price. had no critical issues staying here.

Dated but friendly
The hotel is dated but undergoing a much needed renovation. The staff were all very friendly, professional and eager to assist. If you can get it, room 8-15 is probably the best in the place as it has a nice view out over the water.

One night only, if any at all
I’d only booked for one night and very happy that I didn’t have to stay any longer. The hotel is long due for a makeover and the breakfast is a joke. Luckily I arrived late and left early, so didn’t have to spend much time there. If you’re only staying for the night just for sleep, it serves its purpose. Otherwise, I reccommend you go somewhere else...

Good budget option
The hotel needs updating but the rooms are clean. Breakfast had local and some western options, also a coffee machine which was nice. Tv in room including fox movies which was nice after a long day exploring. Only real issue is that the WiFi was slow and was not password protected. It worked though.

Located in the town centre and so convenient for local food stalls in the sea front and walks along the heritage trail. Breakfast wasn't brilliant and the rooms was not brill. Overall rating a 5 out of 10. Staff was helpfull, though.

特に欠点の見当たらないホテル
ホテルは街の端にありますが、サンダカンは小さな街なので、食事や買い物など徒歩で十分済ませられます。 私はツインのデラックスタイプの部屋に3泊しましたが、案内された部屋は6階で、窓からはサンダカンの街並みと海が見渡せました。室内は清潔に保たれ、旧式の小さな冷蔵庫があり、ドライヤーも引き出しの中に固定されてありました。また、1泊ごとにペットボトルの飲料水が2本付いていました。wifiもストレスなく繋がりますが、TVはNHKworldが映りません。 ただ、私自身は大して問題ではなかったですが、宿泊費に含まれている朝食は、朝からしっかり食べたいといった人には少し物足りないかもしれません。

It was probably a popular business hotel in the 90s but not much has been maintained since. Wifi worked for a while then out for a day. A decent breakfast is served and the staff is courteous.

A good bet
We stayed 1 night before heading off to Sepilok, although it would probably have been easier to go straight from the airport. The hotel is is a quiet area, 5 minutes from the water front. The hotel is ageing but clean and perfectly acceptable. The staff were friendly and the breakfast included poached eggs. Apart from the Sheraton, it is probably the best bet in town

Nice hotel with friendly staff
We spent 3 nights in this hotel, it is close to downtown with very friendly staff Room was clean, we were allowed to check in at 11 am, so we did not have to wait till 3 pm Breakfast could be more variated, but overall it was tasteful
