「The Sunbird waterfront is a very nice modern property with very well appointed rooms. The restaurant is good – breakfast is very good. Staff are friendly and polite. I was disappointed by the lack of a tourist activity program, and very ad hoc approach to this. Some of the prices I was quoted for boat, rides, or other accompanied activities were ridiculous. 「Ok but tired. Called a beach resort but rooms are a long way from the lake and you can’t see it. Beach not maintained as other local properties do and no amenities eg seats/loungers. 」

「The lake view is nice. The water is very high right now and so there is no beachfront (which is reportedly the case at most properties). Unfortunately, my room had no hot water (though they tried to turn it on??) and the wifi might as well be nonexistent. The Indian menu options at the restaurant are very tasty, however. 「I had a wonderful 2 nights at blue zebra and wished I could have stayed longer. I was slightly concerned on booking about getting there as there wasn't much info on the website, but as soon as I confirmed my booking with ebookers the hotel was in touch to tel me everything I needed - including details on drivers from Lilongwe and how I could book a boat time to suit my arrival (at an extra cost which was very clear and totally worth it for an extra night).
