Lovely hill top hotel with a good view
Lovely hill top hotel with a good view of Ooty. Good food and pleasant service. Close to Botanical gardens and the lake. Can get a glimpse of sunset. Walking distance to local shops and restaurants. Needs some updating. The water pump is noisy and could hear it in the rooms.

The hotel has beautifully landscaped gardens, lovely rooms with a scenic view over hills and a very good breakfast. All of the staff were extremely helpful and attentive from the personalized check in experience to the bar staff and breakfast staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. My one small negative comment would be the cleanliness of the room. The duvet cover and pillowcases had marks and stains on them and the louvred wardrobe doors had thick dust on them. This aside we had a lovely stay.

Older property but OK.
This is an older property which has been somewhat refurbished. The free breakfast was good. The Wi-Fi is very unreliable. Overall, service was good. I will probably stay here again.

Excellent hotel with beautiful gradens.
What I loved about this hotel is it's location and service. It's located at a high altitude region with amazing views of the town below. Service was excellent. Hotel staff was friendly and answered your calls promptly. The food was pretty decent though dinner could be better with more variety. Gardens are well maintained and beautiful. The bar is quite expensive. Also, there were very few options to chose from. But the ambience and service was pretty good. But there were a few niggles as well. When I checked in there were no towels in the room. There were no tooth brush kits provided either. Had to call the house keeping for these items. Also, there was no wifi. Nevertheless the overall experience was just fantastic!.

Hotel with a view!
Everything was perfect such as the location of the hotel, the infrastructure and the great breakfast. All at a very affordable price. There were a few things which could have been taken care by the staff such as our request for an additional room heater as the one present inside the room was insufficient. 24/7 bar needs to be open, my friend was completely disappointed when we got to know that the bar was closed after 11:00PM and it was very cold and in need of liquid to heat up. Apart from these, everything else was perfect and would love to visit again.

Excellent ambience, neat rooms,friendly staff,very wide buffet breakfast spread to cater to all taste,good Chinese and multicuisine restaurant -You need to have your own vehicle. Good parking facilities

Nice Scenic Hotel location but low quality..
We stayed here for couple of days on 2nd and 3rd June 2016. Overall, the hotel is at a beautiful location ( 5 Star) but we got filthy bathrooms (221 and 210) which smells so bad.. Its terrible they tried to fix it but couldn't. The travel person, Francis, was very helpful who made it easier for us.. The staff was helpful but the quality of the stay don't match to the price..

Good stay for 3 nights with a few concerns
Overall good stay. Positives 1. Good location, Ambiance, property, specious rooms, clean bathrooms 2. Excellent gardens, cactus collection, swimming pool, weather 3. Some staff members were good and smiling but many were not Areas of improvement 1. Unnecessary compromise on certain things like Fridge not switched on unless complained, hot water kettle switch broken and we were asked to operate by inserting a stick, only one hair dryer provided in two rooms and we were told , please manage with one 2. Insufficient stock of food items at breakfast, no fast refill 3. Many staff members did not even smile, the head bell boy (brown coat) came into action only when we were about to leave and put our bags in car 4. Non availability of hot water after morning(It was just warm) Overall, apart from certain staff/service factors, the hotel is just excellent for stay.

Good Hotel in the city but in a quiet locality
I had seen a mixed review of this hotel.While some praised it very much others were critical. My own experience has been good. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful but again not too far away from the town.One can walk to downtown in 15 minutes.The rooms are well appointed and comfortable.It is time to replace linen and towels, I think.They look somewhat old but clean. The staff is very friendly.View from the rooms, garden and restaurant is great. The staff is thoughtful enough to keep the rooms slightly warmed up. The bar is good but slightly expensive.Same goes for the restaurant. Food quality was also good.We did not have breaffast so I can not comment on it.Overall a good experience.The managment should consider providing indoor slippers. I was walking inside the room in my socks.Overall a good experience

Terrible service from reception staff.
Detailed review given in tripadvisor. You get only assurances and no service delivery from reception. Poor wifi signal even in restaurant. Expedia shows that bath tub is available in deluxe room. But, it is not available. They do not serve even news papers in your room. The refrigerator was not cleaned and seems not to have been used for years. No mini bar available.

Tucked away from everything
I have stayed here several times. In the past it was somewhat rundown. But the room I had this time had be refurbished. The location is a bit remote but otherwise it is OK. It offers a great view.

Good hill top hotel with lovely views.
A good hotel in Ooty. Lovely hill top setting and views of the town. A bit of a walk up from the town but taxis are available in town to the hotel. Good breakfast and clean rooms. No free wifi as described in hotel details and swimming pool did not appear to be functioning during our stay. Having said that it is probably the best hotel in Ooty.

Holiday Inn, Ooty - a peaceful getaway with a view
Top of the mountain view for a peaceful getaway. Hot water and heat 24/7 is available ... when you ask! Don't hesitate to call the front desk for anything. Staff are very accommodating. Great service!

Holiday Inn, Gem Park- Perched on the Hilltop
First the positives. The hotel is perched on top of the hill and offers a beautiful view of the valley below. Be sure to ask for the valley view rooms during booking. Our room was spacious. The staff is quite helpful and aim to please. The restaurants and bar offers a decent buffet and variety of drinks. The gym was well equipped and quite useful. Negatives- The hotel has a serious maintanence deficiency. We experineced 4 power outages in one evening durin a rain strom. The elevator got stuck. Some light switches did not work. The carpet in our room was not clean. The coffee cups and utensils were not clean. Some has lipstick marks and full of tea stains. Attention to details seems to be missing. For paying twice as much as I do for a Holiday Inn in the U.S., I got a much lower value out of this Holiday Inn in Ooty.

An awesome experience
Due to the heavy rainfall and floods in Chennai, our plans were carried forward by a day and hence we arrived at Ooty a day before our reservation. The Manager on duty was very understanding and happy to amend our reservation and accommodate us on short notice. Although the hotel is relatively old, it's nonetheless very well-maintained and the rooms were clean and tidy. Customer service personnel were extremely polite and very helpful.

The experience was horrible. First the flush was not working. The toilet exhaust was not functioning. Even after phoning 5 times the reception we did not get the morning news paper !!!!!! What an arrogance !!.

Not your typical Holiday Inn
My reservation was in order and the check in/out smooth. This is an older hotel which has been refurbished. The furniture and carpet in my room were dirty and stained. I never got the wifi to work even with the i-t guy coming to my room and trying. Same thing last time I stayed here. The breakfast is marginal. I don't plan to stay here on my next visit to Ooty.

Ooty's best hotel
The only complaint was the food was too spicy for western taste. While I realize they need to cater to their Indian customers, toning back the spices would be nice.

poor service
i stayed at this hotel for one night and wouldn't go back primarily because of the poor service, especially at the reception desk. i asked for a space heater 4 times and wasn't given one (the rooms are cold.) i asked that a computer technician be sent to my room 4 times and he never showed. i asked for a pot of tea which took about 40 minutes to arrive at my table (even though i was asking four different waiters several times each). when it did arrive the lid of the pot was broken (it wouldn't close, hence,cold tea) but the waiter insisted that it was fine even though he couldn't get the lid to shut either. i was also charged for a dental kit (which is irritating after spending the amount i did on the room.) my room was spacious with a good view but it could have done with a bit of renovation (peeling paint...old shower...) it is also possible that my opinion of the hotel is a bit poor because someone repeatedly tried to get into my room at 2:30 AM. the lobby washroom was a bit dirty and the counters and floor all wet (maybe it was just the day i was there.) finally, my bill at check-out was calculated incorrectly 3 times. i have been traveling in india for 4 months and stayed at places ranging from $10/ night to $150/night and this was the worst value for money place i stayed at. complaints aside, the food and dinner service at the chinese restaurant was very good.
