This hotel is in a great location right off the highway. Beds were not that great but the staff is wonderful.

On the positive side, we appreciate the new mattress, new and clean sheets, and towels. That was really nice. On the other hand, the location is next to a busy highway and the windows are not sound proofed at all. It was clear that there were new updates and repairs. However, it appears that it was a property with lots of damages from the past. Elevator lights not working, and odd damages makes us wonder what happend in the past and does not feel safe and assuring. We ordered a suite and recelived a room with a dirty sofa with many stains. The furnitures were miss matched as well. For over $200/night, I think this location needs to bring more value to its customers.

The staff tryed to charge me an extra 100$ he had the nerve to tell me cash I felt as if he was trying to be shady I was very uncomfortable giving him my credit card information on top of that there was no refrigerator in our room no chairs I was very disappointed with the stay at la Quinta being that I paid over 200$ for a half a night only stayed a few hours I will not be returning to this hotel..

The hotel was decent, a little out dated, but nothing major. My concern was the yellow/tan stain on the sheet. After checking in at almost midnight, driving 6hours on the road I didn't have time to check the bed thoroughly. When I woke the next morning I noticed the stain. I contacted the front desk, the male staff member that answered the phone stated that the manager was not available. After I told him the issue he said hold on the manager is right here. Seconds later I spoke with the manager She was nice and pleasant. She heard my matter and vowed to get someone to the room to change the sheets. She also said she would reimburse me something for my inconvenience. After waiting 35min I called to the front desk again and spoke to a male. He said she would have house keeping come to my room. After waiting another 10min and being in a rush to leave, the house keep finally came to the room. Because I was in a hurry to pick up my children, I asked them to leave the sheets and i changed them myself. No reimbursement was given, no further communication with manager.

I stayed here once before and had a good experience but it seems ownership is not investing in staff and upkeep as much as before. Bed sagged in the middle and the box springs creaked, freeway noise came in through the windows, keys on several occasions did not open room door or elevator, desk staff had to leave the desk empty to come open my door with a key, and the cleaning staff came in my room saying their charts said it was empty. I will say that although my room supposedly had a limited view, the view was actually terrific--over the freeway, yes, but then to the harbor and port. Breakfast was more ample than many, and had hot eggs and sausage as well as real fruit. The hotel is in an industrial area but walkable to the train station; there is a good city bus system for local transportation, or it's an easy drive to downtown or Yale.

The receptionist on duty couldn’t be more unhelpful and rude if he wanted to try. Checked out after 2 nights stay at 10am and wanted to leave my suitcase there for a few hours at reception/storage as my airport shuttle wasn’t coming until 2pm. He said that they don’t offer anything like that. Have stayed in all types of hotels around the world and first time that something as basic as that was denied. So unhelpful and rude. Room was basic and did the job but will never stay at this chain again out of principle. Terrible service.

The Assistant General Manager Alicia is a wonderful asset to the property. Upgraded us to a room with a mini fridge (surprised that is not standard in all rooms) The couch in the "upgraded room" was filthy with large questionable stains. We wore our shoes the entire time. Very convenient location for our needs, but will spend more money next time on a better hotel

The location was great and the breakfast was ok. But our experience with the maid service was terrible. First day no towel or rooms cleaning, second day 2 towels for 3 people, 4th day 3 towels and 1 bed made. The room was very dirty. And the front desk didn't have any knowledge of the local train station.

What a disgrace to the La Quinta name. Elevators don't work. Had to walk up 6 flights of stairs to get to the room. The rain was coming in around the window and A/C unit. The floor was covered in water. The 2nd room they moved us to also had a leak dripping into the A/C unit. There was a roach in the bathroom and upon further inspection, roach dope in the corners of the bathroom. Was told by staff "they don't have any other rooms and it is an old hotel with leaks, what did I expect". A disgrace to charge people to stay in a hotel with water coming in and roaches. Never again.
