My stay, this time around, at the National Hotel was not a very good experience in that I was never provided the promised king bed upgrade, being that I am an Expedia VIP Gold Member. The hotel room I was assigned was far smaller than the standard (and I know because I have stayed at the National Hotel 3 previous times). The doorlock on my small room failed and prevented me from leaving a full night and I had to wait until the next morning for security to change the batteries and allow me to leave my room. The elevators failed often thus delaying my movement from the 11th floor. My communication ad complaints to the front desk staff was met by a nonchalant attitude and I was given the run-around and my concerns, requests, and inquiries were dismissed. There were no poolside activities and no entertainment that I can remember, which I found odd being that I was there during a very major and popular Memorial Day holiday. Other hotels nearby had lots of entertainment for their guests, especially poolside, including the hotel next door. I was really unpleased with my stay at the National Hotel and because of the lack in follow-up from the front desk staff and no response my management, I doubt if I will return.
