Very nice older hotel in a great location, right across the street from the Park of Madrid. You pay a little extra for the breakfast, which was good. They had non-dairy and gluten free options. They fry eggs upon request, otherwise you just get eggs sitting in a hot pot.
One of the big minuses for us was that the hotel advertised as having Air Conditioning. Of course we assumed that meant room controlled air conditioning. The first night we could not figure out the air conditioning and the room got really hot, so we opened the windows which allowed all the street noise to come in. When we asked the front desk about the air conditioning they explained that they have no control over the AC since it is set to turn on only when the outdoor temperature reaches a specified level. We complained for a few days straight and just kept getting the standard run around. We weren't the only ones complaining, our friends and many other hotel guests stated they were experiencing the same issues with AC and the Staff's respond. After about 3 - 4 days, the AC finally came on.
If it wasn't for the AC situation, I would have given the hotel 4 stars.
