Upon arriving at the property's gates, I knew we were in for a special stay. The grounds are stunning in every way; immaculately maintained, expansive, and full of charm. A friendly black Labrador came out to welcome us and lead the way to the guest house's entry, where we were greeted by the proprietor. We were given a tour of the house and a brief history of the estate, which dates to the 1730's, and asked about our breakfast preferences.
After being shown to our rooms, we headed straight for the pool to relax after spending the afternoon touring Monticello. After looking up the property on Instagram, we realized there were Alpacas on the grounds, so we made sure to stop in and say hello to them from the fence. We did not have dinner at the property, but certainly will next visit as the food looked and smelled outstanding.
Our room was very comfortable and charming, with nice views of the grounds. The bathroom was nicely appointed, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, with excellent service. The only downside of our time at Prospect Hill was that we didn't get to spend another night (or two)!
