"Absolutely beautiful place. A classic Japanese style ryokan with modern amenities such as western beds, private toilet and electric heaters. (As well as the ultra-cosy kotatsu!) Impeccable service and friendly welcome from host and staff. Communication is fine with a few Japanese words and Google Translate to hand. (A little reading up on Ryokan etiquette and manners are recommended for the uninitiated.) The Japanese breakfast sets you up for a day exploring the area. Or just spend...

"The house that we stayed - Iori Setogawa - was very old and condition poor. The bedrooms are upstairs but the stairs are very steep - not suitable for old folks or young children. The surrounding area however was very nice."
