Great bay view
Hotel room was nice and the view of the bay view was great. Nothing was open at the pool and the services seemed limited. Avoid the Chinese restaurant as the prices are substantially higher than anywhere else.

Perfect Stay
Really enjoyed our stay here for my partner birthday! They put on a little cake and it was a lovely touch. The hotel itself is massive. Ha Long itself as a city, is very odd. Loads of empty buildings, just waiting to be filled. However, the hotel itself was perfect, (very, very) comfy bed, amazing bathrooms, good little gym and pools. The breakfast spread was excellent, no faults!! Just be aware that reception was a cash deposit for 100,000,000 Vietnamese money- or equivalent USD. As card deposits take forever to get back apparently.

This hotel was a gambling place serving only to Chinese guests. Most of the people staying here are Chinese men going here to gamble and looking for prostitution. I would not recommend this place to family with young children.

Great hotell with Nice rooms and exceptional service. Breakfast was okay, typical chinese dishes. Didn’t appreciate that smoking was allowed in the lobby etc, since I find the smell nausiating

Royal Halong Hotel
This is a good hotel. On arrival the staff were friendly and check in was fairly smooth although there was a language barrier. If you are an English speaking guest it will be a little more difficult than in some of the other hotels in Vietnam we stayed. Our room was as we had expected, it overlooked Halong Bay and was in good condition and very clean. The indoor hotel swimming pool and spa facilities were excellent. My wife and daughter especially enjoyed their massage. We didn’t use the casino but for those inclined the option is there. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good but should you wish to eat outside then there are restaurants within 10 minutes walk or an inexpensive taxi ride away. There will be more options to dine out in the near future as there is a development close by that will offer further dining options and retail in the near future. We would stay here again in the future when visiting Halong

The room is very good but just avoid the restaurant. The menu is big and interesting on the paper but sea foods were out of stock... the service in the restaurant is low level. We ordered one soup but got 2, we had to ask severyl times to get a glass of water. So I recommend to book this hotel for the room and the casino if you like, but not more.

Large modern hotel with casino
Overnight stay from Hanoi to go on a boat trip the next day. Enormous modern hotel but few guests. It seems to be a casino resort for Chinese visitors (sign saying Vietnamese not admitted to casino). Staff helpful but not all speak English. Very good breakfast included. Good value and nice view of the bay. 10min walk to village and 15min drive to Ferry Terminal but taxis very cheap. Staff can organise car trips back to Hanoi or elsewhere. Large construction site across the road but no noise at night. I would certainly recommend staying on the land and going for a day cruise if you want to save money.

For a five star hotel, the staff don’t know a word of English which is very disappointing and so difficult to communicate. The location is not suitable at all as it’s far away from everything. Room service menu is limited and over priced. The room is good but then again the fridge wasn’t working. Overall, not a good place and I will definitely not recommend it to anyone nor will I ever return to this hotel again. You shouldn’t call yourselves a 5 star hotel either.

Quality hotel option when visiting Ha Long Bay
We stayed here after our overnight junk boat trip was cancelled due to bad weather at the last minute and enjoyed a comfortable and entertaining stay. The room was very spacious with high quality furnishings and a quality bathroom. The hotel's facilities are good with gym, pool, restaurant and casino to enjoy if, like us, you are stranded by a typhoon! The staff were very helpful and assisted us in booking alternative sightseeing activities after our tour was cancelled. The only draw back was the location which was a little isolated half way between Tuan Chau Harbour and Ha Long City which meant we required taxis to do anything. Aside from that I would recommend this hotel as a place to stay with the comfort and good service that you'd expect from a 5 star property.

J’avais choisi cet hotel pour ce reposer du vol de 15:00 et trajet depuis Hanoi avant une croisiere. Chambre Deluxe confortable. Hotel en partie en travaux avec quelques nuisances. Hôtel situé dans un quartier en construction donc la vue sur la baie comprend la vue sur les travaux. Clientèle essentiellement chinoise et tres bruyant dans le hall. Les 2 restaurants ne semblaient pas extraordinaires et nous avons opté pour un diner et petit dejeuner au Novotel proche pour ne pas avoir un petit dejeuner uniquement asiatique.Je ´aurais pas pu rester plus d’une nuit.

Hotel was in very good condition, centrally located, however the staff don't speak English, which makes it difficult for someone who doesn't speak the language. I can understand why they don't have the need to speak English, 99% of their customers are from China, Taiwan and Korea.

Expedia needs to be more diligent
I need a booking number which Expedia didn't supply, the itinerary number or book number provided by Expedia were not the right criteria for what was needed to check in. 30 min hassle at the front desk cause the correct information wasnt provided by Expedia. Checked app, email, online Expedia website, none had it.

An all-round lovely experience!
This hotel was incredible - the views were great, the rooms were big and lovely to stay in, but I would warn to pay more and get a bay-view room as the other rooms don't exactly have much to look at. In terms of staff, everyone was wonderful and extremely attentive - I didn't open a single door on the trip. Reception also helped us organise a boat trip and gave us advice on the local area. The outdoor pool is fantastic and the indoor pool is just as nice, but isn't heated, so you're aware. In terms of hotel facilities, everything was great - the restaurant was lovely (and I'd definitely recommend adding breakfast to your booking) but the spa was disappointing as it is for men only :/ Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed mty stay at the Royal Halong Hotel and would absolutely stay again. 9/10

It's not a 5 star hotel standard
Location isn't great as it quite far from the centre and notthing to do surround. Staffs are not really friendly. The hotel allows guests to smoke right inside so it's not a friendly kids staying. Buffet breakfast isn't great and not many choices to choose from. Overall this hotel isn't a 5 star rate standard and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. If you are a family travel with young kids, don't stay here.

Nice Hotel and close to city centre
We had a great time in Halong, the Hotel is ROYAL in every way, all facilities are well maintained and staff are friendly, not to mention the hotel is really luxury in every way

Hotellin henkilökunta aika teennäisen ystävällistä suuremmilta osin ja jotenkin kylmä vaikutelma jäi varsinkin respan henkilöstöstä. Hotellin lähellä oleva ranta remontissa ja suurta rakennustyömaata, varmaan valmistuessaan hyvä kokonaisuus kuitenkin. Matkaa Halongin keskustaan muutama kilometri.

Bedrooms are excellent in terms of decor, comfort, space. Breakfast is geared towards the Asian palate without adequate choices for the western taste.A patron was observed smoking whilst taking food from the food trays,although the waitress dealt with the problem once she was informed. Hotel's method of checking that no item was removed from the room is unsatisfactory and can be embarrassing if a genuine mistake is made by the patron.

The food in the restaurant was really bad. They tried to keep our passport during registration. There was some construction until 9pm. Overall we were a bit disappointed.
