A well begun trip to Northeast.
I'm happy that I decided to stay in Vishwaratna Hotel. It's value for money. Staff is courteous and food is good. It's location proved to be a boon as it's centrally located, very close to Palton Bazaar and 15 minutes distance from Kaamakhya Temple.

Convenient Location, Good Value for the Money.
The Vishwaratna Hotel is in a great location for the work/shopping I needed to do. It's right on AT Road, near all the vehicle parts and hardware/buildling materials shops, and also a short walk from Fancy Market and Lakhtokia, for a lot of household items. Aside from the poor service at the reception counter (slow check in, bad attitudes, and no credit card facilities), the service from the other staff (bellboys, restaurant, room service, housekeeping, etc.) is very good. The hotel itself is a bit older, though there's been some updating recently to the restaurant and reception areas. Rooms could use better amenities, and, as usual in India, need international plug points. They only have the round Indian ones, so you need your adapters.

False promises.
This hotel appeared to be in a great location for guhuwati but they seem to be falsely advertising certain elements. My main reason for booking was the advertised pool that no member of staff could show me other than to say that it hadn’t been in use for quite some time. The spa is also little more than a hairdressers. In addition for the length of our stay the restaurant was not available due to it having booked out for a seemingly permanent function This may or

Great Place to Stay in Guwahati
We were very pleased with our stay. Service was excellent. We ate at the restaurant hotel and were very pleased with the food and service. The location was just a few blocks away from the Fancy Bazar, which was the reason why we chose Vishwaratna Hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

Very good service and helpful staff but the location is in semi industrial goods trading area and thus noisy with no nearby decent places to eat out or chill out.

The hotel is somewhat dated and in a noisy street full of mainly automotive spare part suppliers. There are no restaurants nearby to eat out. Staff at the hotel are helpful with local tips etc.

Good Clean Rooms Good Breakfast Great Price
I cannot comment on the location as I don't know of the city of Guwahati but jt appeared to be in the Centet of the Town and close to business district itself The rooms were Large Clean and comfortable though the hotel appears to be a bit old and dated but still was very clean and not smelling like some old hotels. And for the price it was a bargain and can be compared to any new hotel in the area. Staff was pleasant and breakfast was a good spread of Hot Dishes Overall I would definitely consider the hotel for another stay should i come back to the city and recommend it to others as well.

The Hotel is nice. Would recommend for family visit. But make sure you specify that the room rent is including tax else they will charge you additionally. Wifi doesnot work. Despite repeated feedback about the wi-fi connectivity no action was taken from hotel. Best part is it is close to the market and good breakfast is provided.

Nice Hotel in Guwahati Market area
Decent hotel in Guwahati market area. The service was great, and the food was really good. The rooms were OK. We had a broken bed in one of our rooms, but besides that, it was decent.

Frustrating and unclean
At check in they did not know we had a reservation. We were put in a room right underneath construction that lasted for 6 ours plus both days we were in Guwahati. The first night the construction lasted until well after 11 pm. When we called to complain the staff all of a sudden pretended not to understand english. The air conditioning was broken, and the sheets had hair and a blood stain on the pillow case. After a long day of sight seeing we came back to shower and found that the water from the tap and the shower was jet black, even when we let the water run for 5 minutes. The food made us both sick for 4 days after, and check out was disorganized and lasted over 40 minutes, making us over an hour late to our next destination.

Decent hotel in City Center
Everything was fine except that my laundry was not picked up despite reminder. However it was delivered in time eventually. Nice breakfast and decent rooms.
