This was a solid 3-4 stars , not as nice as some of the others we stayed in but had everything we needed. It wasn’t as clean in the common areas but room was clean

Super clean lovely hotel with gracious service. Sumptuous breakfast buffet. Beautiful lake walks adjacent.

Accommodations are dorm-like. Spartan but clean. Friendly staff. The views from the room are incredible. Kids loved the stairs and second story in each room. There is also a play area in the lobby for kids.

Receptionistin war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Keine Ahnung, was das Hotel früher war (Schule, Spital o. Ä.) aber heimelig und zu Hause haben wir uns nicht gefühlt. Die Zimmer und Anlage waren aber sehr sauber. Für eine Nacht ok. Wir möchten allerdings nicht längeren Urlaub dort verbringen.

Bare Bones, Unfriendly Check In
As others have stated this is a school dorm used as a “hotel” in the summer. Good concept, but have low expectations so as not to be disappointed. Literally, 2 beds, 2 beside tables, a desk and tiny bathroom. If you’re planning on sleeping and leaving first thing it will meet your needs. I wouldn’t spend any more time there. The check-in clerk was unfriendly and uninterested. He clearly wanted to be anywhere but at the front desk. Not a great first impression.

Awkward old dorm, expensive for what it is
I found this hotel to be very awkward. From parking far away from reception, to not being able to find our room on the "second floor" (because we went to the second floor, all the way to the end of the hallway, and then had to go up another half a flight of stairs, so it was like it was on the 2.5 floor). It was a converted dorm and felt very much like it. No TV in the room, but there was a common area on the floor. As we had a room for three people, there was a loft area with single beds and a very small winding staircase that blocked the foot of the bed. The room was cramped in part because of the staircase, and the loft situation wasn't ideal for us with a small child. Small bathroom, very few plugs, and the worst sin of all in summer in Iceland.... the curtains did not darken the room at all. So basically it was light in the room all night... also not ideal for traveling with a small child. It was pretty pricey for what it was, but I suppose that's the norm in Iceland.

Thank you desk clerk
The room was hot and there was no room for our luggage. The desk clerk was able to change our room to one that was a little less hot and had more room for our luggage.

Komum eftir miðnætti og komum að læstum dyrum. Náðum þó í vaktmann og komumst inn. Hótelið var nýbúið að opna fyrir sumarið og smá hnökrar til að byrja með. Allt einfalt en hreint og akkúrat það sem okkur vantaði. Frábært útsýni úr okkar herbergi og þjónustan vinsamleg. Var voðalega glöð að hafa kaffi/te aðstöðu á herberginu.
