The place was beautiful, but it was the staff that was the problem. Check in was a surprise because there are no extra fees listed for this place on Expedia, but a deposit hold for incidentals was placed on my card (although the room was already paid for). We decided to go downstairs for dinner. The hostess asked if we wanted to be seated inside or outside, and we chose outside. A waiter and a waitress passed by us multiple times. We waited for 15 minutes with no “how are you? Can I get you something to drink?”, or any acknowledgment of our presence whatsoever. We left and walked to a restaurant around the corner.
I was hesitant to book this place because of the name, but the pictures were so nice I couldn’t pass it up. I thought “surely things have changed. It’s 2024!” I was wrong. We were in town for my niece’s graduation, but I don’t think we’ll ever visit the Boston area again. My boyfriend is a Red Sox and Patriots fan, but he’s hesitant to return. We’ve both traveled all over, and we’ve never been uncomfortable on our travels until we went to Boston. The racism is too loud there.
