A wedding-related regret... The front desk staff was extremely dismissive and rude, and for someone who lives in Japan and is used to Japanese omotenashi, this came as a shock. I chose this hotel for my parents who took their very first trip overseas for my wedding here in Tokyo. When assisting my senior citizen mother and father, who have trouble seeing and were exhausted after a long flight, with the hotel check-in process, the staff were not welcoming or understanding in the least. It was as though my parents were "low level/low priority" guests on the basis of using Travelocity. The front desk staff tried to prevent me from filling in paperwork for my parents -- despite the fact that I was the one who paid for everything. Other interactions during their stay were also negative. Upon checkout at the front desk, no thanks, kind words, or goodbyes as is the norm at other hotels in Tokyo. The Grand Hyatt Roppongi has become my hotel of choice for business meetings, guest stays, and other activities since this experience, and I highly recommend it (or others) versus the Sheraton Miyako. Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts.
