It’s one of the best hotels in Taipei and we highly recommend to stay at least once in your life if you ever travel to Taiwan!

The facility is old, the shower door is not able to close completely, so the water came out after the shower. Overall, the hotel is nice and clean. The stuff is friendly.

The tours of Eastern and Western secret tunnels are nice! Especially,the Eastern tunnel with the tour bus!

The staff at front desk (a young man of 20s on March 19) has horrible attitude. The hotel refused to give me a standard hotel itemized checkout receipt.
It is getting worse. Very crowded and noisy. Not a place to stay for business travels. I used to stay here for the past 10 years, not any more given what happened this time.

Wonderful historic hotel, beautifully maintained in an ideal location. Truly an icon. Treat yourself to one of the nicer rooms, definately worth spending a little more! I make it a point to stay there for at least one night when ever I am in Taipei.

A unique Chinese palace design hotel experience; expensive buffet breakfast or a la carte room service; regular free shuttle to the nearest subway station and also to the nearest night market on weekends; one bedroom suite is like a Hilton Homewood suite with a bar, an office table, a spacious sitting room and a large balcony but without a kitchen.
It is priced about the same as a NYC area hotel.
I like this hotel.

They don’t give hotel itemized checkout sheet which is required for business reimbursement.
This is the first time I had such an issue during the last 20 years of business travels.
This is horrible. I have to pay the business expenses by myself.

The hotel has a lot of history and it is fun to explore around the hotel.

Don't stay here if you plan on using public transportation to get around. Taxi drivers need to go around in circles cause only one entrance getting into the hotel. Upon lots of traffic and this circling is like an 15-30 min depending on which direction you are coming from. Very formal and clean. Nice to just stay once and probably not leave the premises. You see this beautiful building from afar and pretty grand and RED when you get inside.

A unique hotel in Classical Chinese palace style with modern plumbing.
The economy room is small but well designed. It can accommodate a couple without much luggage without any problem.
Good bathroom with bath tub and separate shower.
Expensive buffet breakfast crowded with group tour travelers in a hurry.
I enjoy my stay here.

The Grand Hotel is a landmark of Taiwan and none of the other hotels can match the grandeur and extravagant historical background.

THE POOL WAS NOT OPEN - No advance notice. We switched from another hotel when they notified us of their pool closure. Very disappointed. Otherwise a very nice hotel. Very elaborate and upscale. Not many guests from America. English was sometimes hard to use. Nothing nearby but free shuttle bus will take you to MRT station and a night market.

Check in was fast and easy. They even surprised us with a bottle of wine since it was our anniversary.
Hotel is old but we thought it had character and was great. The room was very nice and updated.
Easy transport shuttle to metro, we used it the whole time. Several restaurants on premises, we had breakfast there and it was great.
All and all a great experience, and even though it’s a little out of the city center, it was easy to get to places. We loved it and plan to be back!

Definitely worth staying here once for the experience, but be aware that the property is definitely 5 star history with 4 star rooms. The decor is a bit run down and in need of renovation - though definitely pleasant enough. City view rooms have a great view, but are a bit noisy due to the proximity to the motorway and flight path into Songshan airport.
We had some issues with the airconditioning not cooling the room sufficiently - the staff didn't seem to understand what the problem was.

It is not an ordinary hotel. It is a place with lots of history and great architecture style. The view is unbeatable ! Highly recommend !
