Makuhari Messe is an enormous and comprehensive conference center that hosts competitions and assemblies of all kinds. The site contains several large and impressive arenas, including the Makuhari Messe Event Hall, the International Conference Hall of Makuhari and 11 sections of the International Exhibition Hall. 

Attend some of the annual events held in this conference center. Check out the vintage and classic motors on display during the Tokyo Auto Salon car show in January. Play the latest video games at September’s Tokyo Game Show, where the most modern software is available for viewing. 

The Jump Festa in December celebrates anime and manga cartoons as well as video games, while the Wonder Festival showcases toys and models in February and July. Attend a concert in the large hall, where international superstars such as Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga and Mariah Carey have performed. Sports events are also held in the compound, which was chosen as a venue for fencing, taekwondo and wrestling matches during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. See the vast compound at night, when it lights up against the dark Chiba sky. Note that the second part of the complex’s name comes from the German for fair or market.  

Makuhari Messe stands in the Makuhari district of northwestern Chiba. Get the Tokyo Line from the center of the prefecture to the Kaihim-Makuhari Station, which is on the eastern side of the complex. Make your way around the surroundings for its many attractions, which include Makuhari Beach and the Chiba Prefecture Makuhari Seaside Park. The Marines Museum and ZOZO Marine Stadium center on the popular local Marines baseball team.
