This IS the place to be if coming to Fukuoka! I'm sure the transportation was plentiful but with so much to see & do just in the mall, we didn't make it out! The hotel elevator opened up to a food court in the mall and the 5th floor had ramen shops not to be missed! A water fountain show set to music happened every 1/2 hour (if memory serves) so it was hard not to walk away from that. Comfortable accommodations & surprisingly quiet once in your room. Pre-check-in luggage storage a real bonus!

The property was well-maintained, and it had a very nice breakfast included with our stay. The only real issue we had was that we were assigned to a smoking room, and as non-smokers, we definitely smelled the lingering odor. The hotel is located next to a very large mall, and there are plenty of decent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. However, it was about a 10-minute walk from the Hakata train station to the hotel, so that's something to consider if you have a lot of luggage.

The hotel is conveniently located near the first subway station from the main shinkansen Hakata station. The staff is friendly, the room was nice and clean. But they should change the shower curtains because they smelt funny.

The Washington hotels in General keep appearing as cost effective options for Yankees visiting Japan. I stayed at three on a recent trip. The breakfasts are nice. Fukuoka's is more "Japanese" so lots of interesting fish and pickled veggie choices. No cereal whatsoever. In general, the Washington Hotels cook very runny scrambled eggs ... but I guess that's not why you go to Japan. THe properties are always clean. The bathrooms provide full amenities. The Fukoaka hotel had a nicer (larger) than average shower and a separate bathtub.

We stayed for one night. Check in was very slow since they write information instead of putting in the computer Hotel is an old building that seems no renovation was done since it was built. We didn’t like smell of the room and found out no fan in the bathroom. Switch for the room lights was malfunctioning. Electric outlets are very limited and was hard for us to charge 3 of our phones, IPads, etc. Bed and pillows were uncomfortable and we didn’t sleep well. Also, no water bottles provided which we normally got at least one per person at other hotels we stayed before. Bending machine is on the floor but is expensive compared to outside. We will never come back here.

Nice hotel. Rooms are clean & comfortable, except for air-conditioning. Unable to adjust aircon temperature. Can be quite stuffy at times. Has to open the window for fresh air. Easy acess to canal city shopping mall. About 12mins walk to Hakarta station. Overall thumbs up.

Don’t be deceived by the hotel exterior appearance. Room was extremely small. The first room we had - light and AC was broken. We changed to another room - better but AC was warm. Bed was hard. I would not recommend to stay there.

Whenever I stay in Fukuoka I always pick this hotel because of the convenience of being right inside Canal City + the reasonable price of rooms. I've probably stayed here about 5 or 6 times already.

Great hotel
Amazing value for money. Right next to canal city shopping mall and big, clean spacious rooms. Few minutes walk to the subway, Nakasu and all that's around. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Property is conveniently located in Canal City so it’s easy to find things to do that is nearby. Room was spacious enough for 5 people. The bathroom floor was very squeaky and the tiles were starting to have mold though. Hopefully it will be cleaned soon to prevent more spread. Otherwise good hotel!!

It's clear that this property has been around a long time. The ventilation in my room was not so good, so there was a bit of a mouldy smell. Despite being an older property, in general it was OK. Personally I prefer well-lit rooms, so unfortunately all of the lighting available was warm lighting. The location was good - about 10-15min walk to Hakata sation, and many conveniences within a stone's throw.
