Clarke Quay Mall Tours

Clarke Quay which includes night scenes, modern architecture and general coastal views
Enjoy some modern restaurants, funky clubs and bars that occupy converted warehouses in the former city trade center.

The historic commercial center of Clarke Quay was once the most heavily used mooring point along the Singapore River, and was the trade center for the city. Former goods warehouses and storage facilities surround the precinct. When the city of Singapore relocated the trade center, the area was designated for redevelopment. Today, Clarke Quay operates as Singapore’s premier dining and entertainment district. Several of the historic warehouses and colorful shop-houses have been converted into restaurants and nightclubs.

Enjoy traditional Asian cuisine, or choose from Mediterranean, Italian or some of Singapore’s best seafood restaurants. It is not all fine dining here though there are dozens of options including pub food and curry houses. Enjoy the warm weather and dine al fresco. Sit alongside the river or in one of the converted trade boats, both of which offer lovely views over the water. If you feel like going for a ride, jump aboard one of the traditional "bumboats" which ply their trade along the Singapore River.

After dark the quay lights up. Super-modern umbrellas tower over the squares and lanes and are lit from below providing not only shelter but a spectacular visual feast. The promenade heaves with visitors, and there is a carnival atmosphere any night of the week. Sit by the Clarke Quay fountain and watch the passing parade, or check out some of the street performers that frequent the boulevards. Dance at a nightclub, take in a magic show or simply chat to the locals to finish off your night.

Clarke Quay is located on the Singapore River in the central downtown precinct. The quay can be reached by car, and there is ample parking in the area however most is subject to a fee. Visitors arriving by public transportation can use the Clarke Quay bus terminal, while those arriving on foot can reach the quay easily from many downtown hotels. Clarke Quay is open daily and there is no fee.
