While all the staff was friendly, the bar connected to the pool area (right outside our room) was ridiculously loud until 10 PM every night.

Our room had a view of a wall. The robe in the room was disgusting and very used and I can’t imagine a guest even putting it on their body. The bathroom was not clean when we arrived - hair on the ground in bathroom and in tub- gross! No coffee in the room and the coffee in the lobby was lukewarm at best. Man working at the coffee shop was dozing off at the register. We asked for a late check out at 11:30 or 12 and they said no. As we waited in the lobby for our Uber, the desk manager and another employee were talking about friend being drunk and were not professional at all. Lastly- we left our room for the day and got back around 3 and our room still had not been cleaned. There was a drunk person asleep in the sitting area above the coffee shop. Unfortunately this was not an good stay at all.

Great location to walk around, close to Market street, College of Charleston. Some street noise could be heard at night, but not a problem. Room was decorated nicely. No refrigerator or iron in our room. There was a steamer, though. Staff was nice and informative. We arrived late 1030p to check in. There was a note under our door saying that there was a race and streets were blocked/closed off til 2p next day. Thank goodness, i decided to book a later flight next day. But that would have been an issue if you were trying to leave during times of race so consider asking abt events when booking.

Did not appreciate surprise charges of daily “resort” fee and $49 daily parking (found offsite a block away for $18/day).

“The Ryder Hotel” was a definite reminder that what we see on social media isn’t real. I chose this property for a number of reasons, some of which include: -ADA Compliant Rooms, which had hand railings and a wide enough door to fit a wheel chair, but that’s pushing it, at best. The floors in our hotel room were coated with a layer of moisture which made them incredibly slick, so we had to be extremely cautious. -Little Palm Bar/Restaurant- major let down. The drink was subpar and the restaurant menu was a literal joke. Maybe 7 things, max. To choose from. -Valet Parking is annoying due to having to constantly depend on someone else getting your car for you. If I’m being charged a daily parking fee, that’s fine, but at least let me park my own car and get to it at my own leisure. -Last but certainly not least, I went to the coffee bar this morning expecting to get a delicious latte. The barista attempted to perform a “trick” which failed miserably to include milk getting splashed all over the counter and myself, which was after I had just taken a shower, so it was a sticky mess. To make matters worse, he didn’t even throw out the drink that was included in the failed “trick” and gave me a cup that was sticky, leaking, and half full. Oh, it was still $8.50. I absolutely do not recommend. Don’t believe the videos you see on Tik Tok from the many influences pumping this place up. Totally NOT a vibe.

Good location, easy to walk to French Quarter, water etc. Decor is really unusual and attractive and made it a really different place to stay. It is all very well put together with lovely outdoor spaces. Very clean and rooms good size and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
