Thanks to Petra on reception and her utter lack of professionalism and appalling rudeness because my Colleague who was checking in before me and did not have access to a corporate or private credit card to pay the security deposit which would have been paid on my arrival a mere hour later, my Colleague left the property humiliated at being made to feel somehow pathetic in front of other guests and staff. Based on this disgusting ‘welcome’ from Petra I chose to move to another far superior and customer focussed hotel that actually have staff who have been properly trained in customer service and actively work with guests to seek solutions to somewhat different situations. As such I forfeited my payment to the Grand Chancellor with the determination never to stay at that hotel again and ensure my company, colleagues and anyone else I know never stays there either. A strong suggestion for management of the hotel - get Petra some serious customer service training and manners AND accept security deposits from the other guest over the phone.
