The service and condition of the hotel are very good. Except there was black stain (looks like mold stain) and yellow dots on the towel. It is totally unacceptable in such a high ranking hotel.
Great hotel! Recommend highly. The room was comfortable and spacious. Ditto for the bathroom. Minor amount of wear and tear. Unfortunate that the coffee maker leaked. Exercise room was basic although warm.

Had a great stay at The Grand Hotel. Lovely room, nice bar. Only slight downside was a chaotic breakfast on our second day. Service seemed to be left to one hard working lady and elements of the ‘full English’ had been shown to the grill rather than cooked more fully. In contrast, the previous day’s breakfast had been spot on.

Characterful hotel with quality fittings and modern bathrooms. High level of cleanliness with friendly and efficient staff. Well equipped bedrooms. Only let down for us was the full English breakfast. Quality of produce and presentation lower than expected. Eggs in particular were of poor quality, were tasteless and overcooked. Solid yolks instead of runny. Just “okay”.

The hotel is clean and the room was nice, although smaller than expected for a suite. Totally enjoyed the firm mattress.
On the other hand, room service food was below average and drinks at the bar were watered down.
Service was subpar as well. We asked reception to collect the room service trays from our room while we were out. After returning 3hrs later we found the trays still in our room. Reception also gave us incorrect details regarding parking at the B4 car park, so we never received the alleged 55% discount. The total lack of parking at the hotel is a major issue.
Prices are way too high for what this hotel is/has to offer.

Allowed us to check in much earlier than recommended time. Swift and polite room service. All staff incredibly polite and helpful to the point where a more senior member of staff happened to be having debrief by my door and took my case and carried it outside for me. Breakfast food and service stunning- would 100% stay again!

One of my fave hotels in Bham and the only one I choose to stay in when visiting the city.
Main bar accomodating to hotel guests, maybe the new jazz bar could keep tables open for hotel guests as would have loved to have visited but apparently fully booked
