We have stayed in Peninsula many many times over the years. We always like the location, the room decor, the services are in general very good. However, the concierge service for restaurant booking is very slow in response. I tried to book some restaurants in advance in Jun and Dec this year. It took a week for the concierge to reply to my email even though I have chased several times. I really don't understand a 5 star hotel like Peninsula will be that slow in response to email. We have used the concierge services for restaurants booking by Mandarin Oriental, Conrad and Ritz Carlton, Park Hyatt. All like response to my email within 48 hours and with all bookings completed. I always curious why it took Peninsula concierge so long in replying email. The hotel overall is fantastic but maybe no enough concierge people to help the guests?
