Stay was satisfactory, hotel OK, breakfast not up to much but that’s Spain. Staff really polite and friendly, condition and cleanliness good.

Great location
The hotel was in a great location only 5 minutes from the metro and right on a strip of popular shops. The room was somewhat small for two people but it was nonetheless comfortable and clean. It’s more vintage than I had imagined but the location and service made up for it. The employees were very nice and friendly. Absolutely no complaints.

The location was ok and property reasonably clean. However at first I was given very likely the smallest room in the hotel and no mini-bar/fridge (during the heat of August), even though in the description section it said all rooms had AC, balcony and mini-bar. I was allocated a better room (plus an empty fridge) the following day after I complained. Their cafe (though described as restaurant in the description page) closes as most guests are about to wake up (11:00 am), and the hotel bar does not operate in August; apparently bar staff rather be on holiday!! although again not mentioned in description page. All TV channels are in Spanish, so if you're not a native speaker you're stuffed. In short the hotel(?) offers zero value in entertainment; you merely get a room and that's it. The worst hotel I have stayed in in all my travels by a country mile, including the four previous occasions I had visited spain. The description of the hotel is not fully transparent and rather misleading.

Great hotel for people who speaks Spanish
This hotel is no where near major tourist area. However if you speak Spainsh this is a good hotel for you. The hotel is old but very clean and well maintented. Many good local restaurants and shops, two subway lines within walking distance. The Wifi is not so great and there is no Engish tv Chanel.

Fabulous Madrid on foot
This is a 3 star hotel, in a good location, quiet and only 20 minutes walk to Plaza Major via a wonderful shopping street. The room was comfortable and spacious. It was advertised with a balcony but there wasn't one (which was disappointing). The air con was very quiet and effective, the shower was over the bath, and a lovely bathroom welcome pack. Nowhere to sit to work other than in reception or the room, which was disappointing and no bottles of water in the room - which I would expect in the heat of Madrid. Overall friendly staff, who understood a good level of English. I would stay here again. The wifi wasn't very good which was also a little frustrating.

Very small room. No coffee maker microwave or fridge. But bed was very comfortable so that's a plus. Also no coffee in the lobby. We stayed there because it was near somewhere we needed to be able to walk to.

Good three star in handy location.
Generally satisfied. The room was heated, hot water was available when needed, the windows opened onto a balcony which overlooked a busy street. However, the sound insulation on the windows kept out street noise. I did hear some noise through the wall with the next room. My wardrobe contained a safe, available only at an additional charge, which I thought was a bit stingy. A kettle was promised on my reservation but it did not materialise and I did not press for one (maybe reception would have supplied one had I asked). A fridge in the room would have been nice. The location is a mixed residential/business area close to the metro and with plenty of cafes and restaurants around. So I did not try the breakfast or lunch offered by the hotel's cafeteria. The overall impression is good and I would consider Trafalgar for another visit.

I thought it was very misleading of them to have a picture of the Best Western emblem in the foyer of the hotel in the advert on Expedia as this is NOT a Best Western Hotel,at least not any more.The room I was given was very cold and there was no heat as the fan was broken.The receptionist kindly sorted another room for me but although it did have some heat it was a pokey hole with a brick wall to look at outside the window..The reception staff,porter were very good and the cleaning lady which is more than I can say for the guy who works in the bar..Not the friendliest barman in Madrid is all I can say.Nice location but I wouldn’t stay here again as I think there are much better hotels around the area,but you may have to pay a little more but it would be worth it in my opinion

Nicely located for easy access to Old Madrid attractions. Good shopping experience in walking distance. The room was slightly smaller than expected but didn't mind as it was just for a night. Easy access to Metro. All in all a good experience. Rooms are clean were not noisy at all. ( our room was on the 6th floor).

Nothing fancy but great value, well appointed and very nice staff. Rooms are modern and clean. Good internet and even though it is on a busy street, no noise. I have stayed there many times and will continue to do so because it is close to where I need to go, business wise, has a good supermarket half a block down the road, lots of restaurants and is between two metro stations.

Good Budget Value Place
A very clean and comfortable room with a terrific bathroom area. Not anything fancy but totally adequate with an okay breakfast and good cafe con leche. Overall okay value. And if you walk toward the centre, you find yourself in a cool bohemian type neighbourhood which we enjoyed. And it was about a 20-30 min to walk to the Plaza Mayor area... walkable for us... and we walked home from the Prado as well...
