Nice stay close to the city
If I were to give the hotel a score, It would be 8.3 The hotel itself is situated in a pretty good place not too far from the city. The receptionists were fantastic. Very nice and helped me with my trip to Chernobyl. The room was clean and quiet. There's a hidden mini bar that I wish I knew about earlier. Overall nice stay.

This is a nice relatively new 35 bedroom hotel. I have been to Kiev 5 times this year and always stay at the Staro. It is home from home and the smiling staff are small in number and keen to help whenever possible.

Great Hotel!
I have stayed at the Staro 3 times now and it never disappoints. Very clean and comfortable rooms. English speaking staff and very helpful! Restaurant has good food, next to a park and numerous cafes. 30 minutes from Boryspol airport.

It is 4,5 star hotel, only location is a bit from center, but for me wasn't problem to walk everywhere(20-30 min). Very beautiful retro styles rooms, very good hotel. Stayed 5 nights.

I stayed at the Staro Hotel on my recent trip to Kiev Ukraine. The hotel is located in the Podil district. The hotel is decorated in an Art Nouveau style, which is interesting. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was a nice way to start the day.

Nice hotel in the Art Nouveau style. Not in the center of town, but within walking distance of two Metro stops. Staff was excellent. Reception did a good job of answering my many questions and also calling a taxi for me when needed. Housekeeping works very hard. Breakfast was good and the items were varied. The hotel also has a restaurant...I ate dinner there every night! There is a convenience store right across the street to purchase bottle water and snacks. Bank with ATM machine on the corner. I traveled by myself and felt very safe in this hotel and in the surrounding neighborhood. Leave plenty of time if flying out of Boryspil airport. Traffic was very heavy during the day. I allowed 1 hour travel time to airport and 3 hours to clear passport control and security. I had extra time on my hands before the flight...there were shops and cafes. I would stay at this hotel again.

I thought the property was in excellent shape and had a nice classic design. It's art deco in its own way. The only thing I found dated was the framed wall paisley fabric, which seems to be in every room. It is in desperate need of an upgrade. Overall the hotel is fairly elegant and classy.

I always stay here. It is a modern, old fashioned sirt of place with c 35 bedrooms so the friendly, helpful staff get to know you. It does have a limited menu and is not in the immediate city centre, but it is in a nice area and has live music to accompany your evening meal.

Great hotel
The hotel was great, interesting design, spacious room with all necessary amenities incl. blackout drapes. 10 min to a metro station, some sights, restaurants and bars close by. Recommend you call them upfront to arrange a pick up from the airport (we flew in to Borispyl and it was 800 hryvnia - can pay in eur). There is a bank close by to exchange money. Breakfast buffet was lovely. Would recommend for a sightseeing trip in Kiev.

This is a nice place in an artistic, quirky part of central Kiev. The hotel is decorated in a unique art deco style that I enjoyed. The room was large and the bed was soft. I appreciated the large selection of pillows. The hotel restaurant was excellent, with both Ukrainian and western dishes on the menu. The restaurant featured a live piano player, which was nice. It's right by a nice park and there are lots of shops in the area. If you want a place in central Kiev but away from the more touristy areas, this is a great choice. I'd definitely stay there again.
