The mercure group should spend some cash here. This hotel is beyond tired. The room was dusty, dingy, stale, dirty. The bathroom patched up with dried paint spilled all over the bath tub, dusty and rusty radiators and taps, stained grouting.
Our room was in what must be an extension of the original building and therefore over the top of the carpark, accessed by a rabbit warren of corridors.
Parking in Winchester is horrid but the hotel car park leaves a lot to be desired. I was forced to use on street and private parking nearby to the tune of £17 a day.
I would not stay here again, no matter how cheap the room rates are, very unpleasant.
