I am highly disappointed as this property is not worth what Expedia charged me for it. Their rack rate was much less which I only learned on getting there and complaining about the tiny room. Barely, there was room to walk around. I would not recommend this property at the rate of about $375. If one can get for $200 and need to just sleep there then perhaps it’s ok.

We booked 2 single rooms & stayed at Zermama Hotel for 2 nights in May23. Rooms: First of all, the hotel was modern. I liked the ambience of dark wood theme across the hotel & rooms, also loved the view from the room's big window, the electric curtain & the rain showers in the bathrooms. Having said that, we found the single rooms were actually too small, I.e. they were the smallest single room we stayed from the 5 hotels visited in Switzerland. Fortunately we only carried a hand luggage each as the room had just enough space to place a hand luggage (definitely wouldn't fit for a large check-in luggage.) The single beds felt like those seats on a plane, very short, where you might have to rest your feet on the window bay if you're taller than 5'11. The room hasn't got space to even place a small table or a chair, so you'd have to put your drinks or snacks either on the bed or the floor. The electricity sockets were also strangely located, I.e. only one socket by the bed. The others were located at the light switch half way up the wall or next to the toilet seat in the bathroom. The room hasn't got air con & it was quite hot, having said that, it was quite chill outside in May so we just had the bathroom window opened all night to let the air in. Location: If you don't follow the Google map, the Zermatt Train & Gornergrat stations are only 5-7 mins walk away. (Otherwise it'd take twice longer). Zermatt high street, Coop...etc. are all within reached from the hotel. We particul

Zermama in Zermatt
Hotel Zermama was an outstanding hotel in beautiful downtown Zermatt. The location was excellent as it was an easy walk from the train station and anywhere throughout town. The 2 bed room was large and we had a view of The Matterhorn. The staff was also excellent and we were treated especially well. I would highly recommend this hotel.

A short walk from the train station, this hotel has small rooms but well designed and nicely appointed. Loved the yoga mat and rollers in the room, as well as welcome macarons!

Called from Tasch and a very friendly lady told us she would meet us at the train statio!! Unexpected and wonderful. Such friendly staff, dinner was phenomenal and the small hotel on the banks of the river is absolutely charming By American Standard’s the room is small but extremely efficient and upscale, reminds me of an upperclass cruise ship cabin. We only stayed one night because we got in too late to get the last train up to the hotel that we had booked on the mountain at Riffelhaus. When we come back to Zermatt, we will definitely book a stay here at HotelMama. So charming!

Great location, just opposite the lift to Sennegga area. 2 ski rentals nearby. Need to walk a bit to the train station. Upgraded to a bigger room with balcony as there were few guests during my stay. Very friendly staff, esp the young man who provided lots of tour information to me. Also provided me an electric kettle, tea bags and honey. Very enjoyable. Breastfast included was OK.

Excellent service at this hotel. The staff are so attentive, and they make you feel son welcome with small details. The room was nice with everything you would need for a short trip. If skiing, the free e-bus stop to the cable car is just outside the hotel.

Great Hotel in Zermatt
Great place to stay in Zermatt. It is right on the river that runs through town. We slept with the balcony door open to listen to it all night. The employees were excellent and gave us great information. The breakfast was very nice, and the spa was a nice add after a long day of walking (and falling) atop the mountain.

We totally enjoyed our adventure at this hotel, once we got there. Our room looked directly at the Matterhorn. Which is what I came to see. Getting there was a bit of problem, having to find out no cars allowed in the Village, a $500:fine for driving in the Village. Major construction everywhere. Parking in the lower village, $60.00 Euros to get a Taxi ride to and from the Village, didn’t help my disposition. After we finally settled in everything was fine.

Fine hotel in a beautiful Swiss mountain town
The Admiral was a new hotel for my Swiss summer walking holiday and it worked out perfectly. The hotel was in a very quiet location in Zermatt but only about a five minute walk from the main train station. It was also beside the river that runs through town which made for some good sleeping.

Great place to stay in Zermatt
Wonderful place to stay in Zermatt. Gracious and friendly staff were very helpful. The hotel is classy and in excellent condition. The location is very nice, by the river, near the train station, and easy walking to restaurants, shopping, downtown, old town, trails and gondolas. Pleasant balconies with views of the Matterhorn, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Lovely dining room for breakfasts, and a pretty living room with fireplace to hang out in on rainy days, or after skiing.. Nice spa with jacuzzi,sauna and steam baths downstairs, open late afternoons til 8PM.

Amazing place Zermatt. Surrounded by high mountains. Highest peak is Matterhorn. Lovely skiing slopes with access through Train and cable cars. Stayed here for 2 nights on a weekend trip from Zurich. Easy access from the train station (7 minute walk) so very central. As a solo woman traveler I felt very safe in the area. At check in I was provided information about an ongoing music festival as well as access to winter activities in the area. Do keep in mind that none of the twin rooms have views of the Matterhorn, so if you want that view you have to book a larger room or ask for an upgrade upon check in. The view from the twin room I had was beautiful though and you have an amazing view of the Matterhorn steps from the hotel. If you have people calling internationally, get the direct number to your room on check in since the front desk won’t be staffed 24/7. This is a local hotel rather than a huge chain and it has real charm and a personal feel to it. No coffee maker in the room and if you get a coffee from the hotel restaurant you will be charged for it so keep that in mind. Lots of café options nearby for your caffeine needs. Hotel breakfast is substantial, not a small continental breakfast and will keep you well-fueled for a day of hiking, skiing or shopping. Located right next to the bus stop that will take you to Glacier Paradise.

Lovely hotel
Staff incredibly good, checked us in early having arrived earlier than planned, which allowed us extra time to explore the Glacier Paradise which otherwise we would not have had time to do. Great view of Matterhorn from balcony and lovely Turkish Bath and great location - definitely recommend

A little family run hotel, Karin was one of the best managers I've met. He looked after me very well throughout the stay (i.e getting me a kettle and cutlery to make my own food in the room). A very friendly host. Highly recommended and definitely would stay again next time.

Great atmospheric hotel within comfortable walking distance to all requirements. Not too far from the train station to walk with luggage (but have a courtesy car/cart for when walking is difficult). Plenty of good eating establishments and the main village shops far enough away to leave you in peace, but close enough to be convenient. Our room had an idyllic view from the balcony of the Matterhorn and village. Management were very friendly and helpful. Loved every moment of our stay. It was a shame to leave.

Great experience
I booked a one-night stay at the Hotel Admiral while I visited Zermatt with friends, and I had a great experience! I had a wonderful interaction with the concierge, who was very helpful and gracious while I checked in. The room itself was fantastic and had a great view of the Matterhorn from the balcony. Overall it was very tastefully decorated, if some of the public areas were a bit kitschy. The hotel was also very well located, and was a three minute walk from the city center, including the Hauptbahnhof and restaurants although was very quiet at night. Breakfast and WiFi are also included, and were very valuable amenities. Overall I would definitely return to Zermatt, and would stay at the Hotel Admiral again!
