Definitely a good and safe place for solo travelers! I will say the bed had a loose board that I poked my finger on a couple times but outside of that the views from my room were stunning!

I guess I really didn't know what a 'Guesthouse' was in the Icelandic sense. This is a hostel where you can get your own room. I had a single room. It had no TV, no temperature control, no adequate bedding, with the wind howling it is not quiet, etc. It was clean and since I was only there 2 nights, it was adequate, nothing more. No one is at the desk the vast majority of the time. The location is good. Perhaps by Icelandic Guesthouse standards this is fine but by most others I would say it is not.

Maybe not obvious if you compare to the prices in your home country, but we are really cheap for Iceland. It is also to maintain these low prices for our clients that we close the reception early, just like most of Icelandic hotels and guesthouses.- The room that you booked is one of our cheapest, but we can also provide rooms with TV, small fridge and kettle and also private bathroom.- All of our radiators can be set with an adjustment button. We could have helped you to find and set it, if you asked.- About the wind, sorry for your bad experience. The first two nights all fine. The last two nights not as good. No hot water on my floor. One filthy toilet was not cleaned during my two night stay there. The managers were not at their desk. I had to complain through an intercom system. All the shower cabins are rusty and require replacement.

If you're driving here - don't. I got parking a fair bit away. Also, Google Maps may suggest a route via Laugavegur. Part of it is closed, so it's an extra stress on the drive. Area looks pretty sketch at night. Your average downtown with crackheads & drunkards. Other than that, room itself was in pretty good condition & clean, but definitely could use some light restorative work.

Good for the price. Economical and convenient. Simple but very clean and comfortable. Shared public kitchen with cookware and dining tables. Good location. Walking distance to all hot spots. Restaurants and stores nearby. Pickup/drop-off bus stop #9 only a few steps away.

Good location but the street outside was quite noisy with traffic all night. Friendly staff and easy to access. Basic room and kitchen was a bit dated. Overall was ok for a nights stay

Basic but nice stay!
Perfect place to spend a night, maybe two, on the cheap. Our room was definitely small, but clean and comfortable. The kitchen area was equipped, and there were multiple bathrooms so we never had to wait. Plus you're located right by all of the cute shops and restaurants!

Hard to find entrance to the property. Big sign on the second floor but little to no signs pointing where the entrance is. I would only recommend this place for people who are staying at Reyjavick for a night or two. Price is very good and they give the bare essentials for a good nights rest. For longer stays, you should look into other options which gives better amenities and have more living space.

Have had a couple of stays here now. Great location, close to supermarket and second hand stores. Short walk to the downtown and harbor area. Lots of restaurants nearby

We arrived late at the property around 8pm but the reception desk was already closed. We had to wait 35 mins for the staff to show up to collect our payment which delayed us from getting dinner when most restaurant's kitchen closes by 9pm. w The carpet was dirty and the washroom did not seem to be cleaned regularly as well so thankfully we only stayed at the room for a few hours just to shower and nap to catch our flight out of Iceland. Overall it was adequate but if you are staying here you will have to lower your expectation overall.

Staff responded to all our unusual requests and was very helpful. Convenient to downtown, Flybus stop right across the street. Sure it is a one-star guesthouse, but for what we needed, it had it, for a reasonable price.

Asian lady who checked me in did not say hello and just shouted at me that check-in wasn't until 2pm (it was 1:30pm). Additionally I had emailed and called to confirm that early check-in would be an option as we had come off of a 15 hour overnight flight and desperately needed sleep. I was given assurances that if the room was available then we would be okay to check in early. I was then advised when I called the room was not ready yet but would be within the hour, which was when I showed up to be treated very rudely by this woman.

This hotel is good value for money. It is spotlessly clean and in a good location -a bit away from most of Reykjavik's main attractions but very close to a bus station and with loads of restaurants within 10 minutes walk. There is a supermarket across the road. The hotel is on the third floor but has a lift. The WiFi is good and the showers are okay. Comfy beds. Only issues are the lack of sound and light proofing as it is on a busy road junction (to be fair, the curtains are thick but it's not an effective blackout). I would stay here again and would recommend it to others provided they aren't very light sleepers.

It's a guesthouse with shared facilities in a converted building so don't expect the Hilton, but I enjoyed the 4 nights I stayed here. The rooms were clean, there were plenty of showers and toilets and I never had to wait, and there was a common area / kitchen although I never used it. I don't think I saw or spoke to any staff members while I was there (it was during COVID so the key was left in the room and I checked in via the door buzzer) so I can't comment on the staff but the guesthouse itself was fine. There are better places in the city but Iceland is super expensive, and this was both within my budget and totally acceptable. It's right opposite the main road into town, has plenty of shops including a supermarket within a few minutes walk, is less than 5 minutes from a transport hub and bus station, and there is a bus stop where you can get picked up for tours and excursions right outside. Overall it was a good option, and I'd definitely consider this location if I went back to Reykjavik again.
